Our Identity
The name and the sapphire
Our name comes from the Italian "al mare", which means "to the sea" or "by the sea". It says plainly where we are and how most of our guests like their holidays to end: with their feet in warm water on the south coast of Sri Lanka.

The Gem
The faceted "A" at the top of our mark is cut like a Ceylon sapphire: light and dark facets side by side, the way a real stone catches the light. Sri Lanka has been famous for its blue sapphires for well over two thousand years.

The Sea
Below it, two wave crests form the letter "M" for Mare. The waves are the coastline we live on and the reason many guests come to Sri Lanka at all.

The Setting
A fine gold frame holds the symbol the way a ring holds a precious stone. It stands for the care we take with every guest placed in our hands.
